At Community Presbyterian Church,
we firmly believe in the importance of Christian education.
Our Sunday school and mid-week Bible studies are geared
toward training the entire body of Christ in biblical and
doctrinal knowledge. Above all, we long to present each
member of this church mature and complete in Jesus Christ.
Our children’s Sunday schools seek to train our
covenant children in the Bible through instruction and
memorization. We highlight the importance of catechisms
and encourage the use of them in our classes and homes.
For our younger ages, we use materials from Great Commission
Publications, the joint publishing arm of the Presbyterian
Church in America and the Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
Our adult Sunday schools offer several elective tracks.
Each quarter, a class is offered on a biblical book,
a historical or theological figure or topic, or an issue
of pressing importance in our Christian lives as God’s
people. In recent quarters, we have studied the letter
to the Romans, the life and thought of Jonathan Edwards,
how God wants us to handle money, and the video series
“Shepherding a Child’s Heart.”
Our mid-week Bible studies are offered for biblical teaching,
community outreach, and body life. We offer a women’s
Bible study on Tuesday mornings. We also have two couples
Bible studies on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
We invite you to participate in the church’s education
program, whether you are involved in a mid-week study
or a Sunday school class. What better way to practice community than
to study God’s Word together?
